8” Hand-Forged W-2 Nakiri
A performance-driven Nakiri built from W-2 high carbon steel, forged and finished by hand. This piece is designed for efficient, straight push-cutting and precise vegetable work.
The blade has been fully heat treated and hardened for edge retention and responsiveness, while maintaining the toughness needed for daily kitchen use. Flats are forged to finish, preserving the character of the steel and reducing unnecessary material removal.
The tall, flat profile provides excellent board contact and control, making it ideal for clean, consistent cuts through vegetables and herbs.
This blade features a hybrid “S-grind,” beginning approximately 3/8” above the edge. The hollow portion of the grind is taken down to approximately .020” thickness, reducing surface contact and improving food release during cutting.
The handle is constructed from black Micarta and compression koa, stabilized by KMG. This combination offers durability, grip security, and a natural visual contrast between modern and organic materials.
